In collaboration with Atelier des Luttes and Sidaction, Coalition PLUS is implementing “The Dialogue Factory,” a three-year advocacy project spanning four countries. L’Initiative aims to train advocates from 23 countries within the geographic networks of Coalition PLUS.
Context
National strategies to combat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria focus on populations particularly vulnerable to health risks, yet these groups often receive insufficient funding. This resource gap limits their ability to advocate for their rights–especially the right to health–voice their needs and challenges, and leverage their community expertise. Strengthening the advocacy skills of association members and enhancing their capacity to design, implement, and monitor effective advocacy actions is therefore crucial.
Description
The project aims to foster inclusive and effective dialogues, particularly for youth, women, key populations, and gender minorities, to improve outcomes in the fight against AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis in French-speaking Africa. It is structured around three main pillars:
- Establishing a professional training and technical assistance program for advocacy in four regions of French-speaking Africa by creating four local professional training centers and providing tailored local expertise.
- Enhancing the impact of advocacy initiatives by partner organizations through customized technical and financial support aligned with their specific needs.
- Highlighting the experiences, practices, and activities of advocacy actors by building a French-speaking community of practice driven by its members.
Impact
The project will provide advocacy training to several target groups, including 20 organizations, 180 thematic experts, 40 trainers from partner organizations, and 180 advocates from strengthened community organizations. Furthermore, an advocacy community of practice with 200 members will be created.
