Key data #3 – L’Initiative support to the fight against the pandemics in Sub-Saharan Africa

Thematic report 31/05/2024

The Key data of L’Initiative serves a dual purpose: to provide precise and concise insights into a specific area of intervention and to offer an opportunity to reflect on the unique features of our actions.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, despite significant progress against HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria, these diseases continue to take a toll. The pandemics disproportionately affect vulnerable and marginalized populations: adolescent girls and young women, men who have sex with men, transgender individuals, people who use drugs, prisoners, and sex workers. To address this situation, countries in Sub-Saharan Africa benefit from the support of the Global Fund and L’Initiative, with a focus on strengthening regional health systems. This third publication of Key data explores the diversity and priorities of our support in varied contexts, facing multiple challenges in a complex environment. It highlights the data and expected outcomes of the actions undertaken.
