World Tuberculosis Day 2024
Tuberculosis is still in 2024 the 2e infectious disease which kills the most. Despite the setback due to the Covid-19 in 2020, we strongly keep fighting, aiming for 2030 eradication objective set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Persistent and emerging obstacles
Growing crises – consequences of climate change, political and economic instability – are widening inequalities and reducing access to care for populations. Despite the efforts and progress of countries, this situation brings big challenges in terms of screening, diagnosis and treatment resistance.

Better detect and manage latent tuberculosis
Meet a beneficiary family to better understand the ins and outs of the APRECIT project, carried out with the Mérieux Foundation and the National Tuberculosis Control Program in Cameroon and Madagascar. To fight drug-resistant tuberculosis: Strenghtening health structures
Germs responsible for tuberculosis develop severe resistance to treatments, complicating the fight against the disease and deteriorating the quality of life of patients. To improve the accessibility and effectiveness of medicines, The Initiative works to train human resources in health and to increase capacity building.
Target and adapt: Focus on our action
To fulfill our mission and move towards a world free from the burden of tuberculosis (but also AIDS and malaria), we priorize investments with a catalytic effect, focusing on community commitment, gender equality and human rights as well as health systems systainability and equity to access.
