Cross-cutting evaluation – Hard-to-reach areas
This brochure presents the key findings of a cross-cutting evaluation conducted on nine projects funded by L’Initiative and implemented in hard-to-reach areas in Africa and Asia. These interventions address HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, as well as cross-cutting issues such as maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, community health and human rights.
The synthesis highlights the barriers encountered in these complex contexts and stresses that hard-to-reach areas should not be treated as a homogeneous category: they require flexible, co-constructed responses tailored to the specific vulnerabilities of the populations concerned. It also provides operational recommendations to design and implement more effective projects for vulnerable, isolated or marginalized communities.
