Evaluation overview – renapc – strengthening hiv prevention among key populations in the republic of congo

Evaluations, Learning 06/08/2023

In the Republic of Congo, at the end of 2021, only 25% of people living with HIV knew their HIV status, and of these, and only 23% were receiving antiretroviral therapy.

In 2018, prevalence was particularly high among female sex workers (8.1%) and men who have sex with men (41.2%).

In view of these figures, L’Initiative has made HIV prevention and screening a priority in that country, by supporting the RENAPC project run by this network of 28 organizations from 2020 to 2022.

In collaboration with the National AIDS Control Program, and the Departmental Directorates of Health Care and Services, the project has proved effective in introducing HIV self-testing and PrEP in the country.
